THE RNA Showgrounds’ latest residential news release has already sold 160 apartments in its first day on the property market, setting a possible Brisbane record.
North Yard in Lend Lease’s The Yards is now 80 per cent sold, despite construction being almost a year out from even beginning.
Lend Lease project director Andrew Hay said he believed it was a Brisbane record for off-the-plan sales.
“The majority of (sales) were done in the first four hours,” Mr Hay said. “We’re especially pleased considering the current competitiveness in the Brisbane market.
“This is a testament to how different The Yards, King Street and Brisbane Showgrounds is in quality design, amenity, and value for money.”
Mr Hay said the most popular apartments were the one-bedroom-plus-study options, and the large corner two-bedroom, two-bathroom options, priced between $375,000 and $702,500.
He said that most of the buyers were locals of Australia, with 87 per cent being Australian and 13 per cent from offshore.
“We positioned The Yards to appeal to the local market, showcasing an attractive lifestyle, including the residents-only podium retreat and the Showgrounds’ wider masterplan,” Mr Hay said.
The podium will comprise 20 wellness and entertainment hubs, including a teppanyaki barbecue, pizza oven, dining space, yoga lawn and an origami-shaped pool with outdoor television screens.
Mr Hay it was designed as a seamless extension of apartment living.
“The health and lifestyle podium makes the most of the temperate south east Queensland climate and the way we as Queenslanders love to enjoy it – in the open air with our friends and family,” he said. The Yards residents will also benefit from the nearby social and entertainment precinct King St.
Announced last week, King St will include as many as 40 cafes, bars, street dining options and fresh food providers.
North Yard comprises the first 208 apartments of The Yards’ 401 total.
South Yard is set to be launched by early November, three months ahead of schedule, following the development’s recent success.
