The Boatyard Bulimba is a new boutique development which is set to be a stunning icon along the Brisbane River foreshore for many years to come.
The Boatyard is being developed by Alistair Harvey and Simon Gundelach of HG Developments. Prices start at $765,000 to $2.09 million.
Designed by award winning architects BVN, these two, three and four bedroom apartments will set a new benchmark in luxury waterfront living in Bulimba and feature 27 apartments across four buildings. The site was previously owned by shipwrights Norman R Wright and Sons – the late grandfather and uncles of Alistair Harvey.
The Boatyard Bulimba is located at Byron Street on one of the last north-facing riverfront sites in the exclusive Bulimba precinct.
Mr Harvey said, “The boat-building business – Norman R Wright and Sons was started by my great grandfather, Norman Wright, in 1909. They have built over 3,000 boats over the years.
The Wright family name has had a huge association with Brisbane, and more specifically Bulimba, the Brisbane River, Moreton Bay in and out of the marine industry. The inspiration for The Boatyard is in the design excellence, the master craftsmanship in materials and the construction techniques which capture the essence of waterfront living that is complemented by Queensland’s culture and climate. This is what NRW have prided themselves on over the generations and this is what we intend to do on this significant site”.
The foreshore development will encompass well designed courtyards and common areas (including a pool) and views of the Brisbane River and Hamilton Hill. Solid spotted gum timber flooring and timber joinery will feature throughout the apartments.
The development is slated for completion in late 2017.
Multi award-winning BVN’s current projects also include Sydney’s highly anticipated Greenland Centre, Brisbane’s Racing Club redevelopment, Quay Quarter Sydney Stage 1 DA and The University of Queensland’s Forgan Smith redesign. BVN designed London’s 2012 Olympic Athletes Village.
