Marketing agent Russell Rollington, of First National Real Estate, described it as an “entry level” buy because it was becoming harder to find properties on the Surfers Paradise island for less.

“We’re finding you can’t really get anything under $2 million,” Mr Rollington said.

He said there was high demand for homes in Paradise Waters because of its location on the water and was close to the beach and cafe and restaurant scene.

“It’s those lifestyle elements that always attract buyers,” Mr Rollington said.

He said a local investor bought the Commodore Drive property, mostly for its position.

The four-bedroom house sits on an 812sq m block and has a pool, boat ramp and timber jetty.

“It’s got a bit of character,” Mr Rollington said.

“We had a fair amount of interest in it — local, interstate and one international party.

“We probably had about 18 inquiries.”

CoreLogic data shows it hit the market in late December and went under contract in March.

The previous owner bought it in 2013 for $1.25 million.

Professionals Surfers Paradise also marketed the property.
